It struck me today that it was probably time I gave you an update on Club Aegis, and the latest book in the series. The word count for Winter’s Fire is currently around 68k. I think the final word count will be around 90-95k, so still a way to go to finish the first draft. I now have a better handle on Logan and Lucy, so I’m going back over what I’ve already done. Yes, I know – my writing method is stupidly inefficient, but that’s a work in progress too. Even though I have 6 books out already, I’m still honing my technique. I imagine I always will, because…

Season’s Greetings from England
So, it’s almost Christmas. The solstice has been and gone, signalling the start of winter (in spite of what the Met Office tells us about winter starting on 1 December!), and to get through the cold season, I focus on the fact that we’re heading for spring, and the days are getting longer. With a birthday in May, spring is definitely my season, and I can’t wait for longer days and warmer weather. Today, the weather app on my phone tells me it’s 9c outside at the moment – not that I’m venturing out to confirm that. That’s around 48f, if you don’t speak Celsius. It’s also grey, wet and…

OKRWA International Digital Awards
Oklahoma Romance Writers of America run the annual International Digital Awards contest, and they have just published the list of this years winners here. I am very proud to announce that two of my stories reached the finals. In the Erotic Short category, the second book in my Club Aegis series, A Wanting Heart, was awarded 4th place, and in the Contemporary Short category, Spent Love, came 2nd. This follows on from the 2nd place in the Erotic Novel category last year, for the first Club Aegis book, The Velvet Ribbon, which is now available FREE. I would like to thank the organisers of the contest, and also all the…

Club Aegis – the future
Passion’s Last Promise, the fourth book in the Club Aegis series, has now been published. I’m working on the fifth, which will bring together two people we met briefly in Passion’s Last Promise—Logan Simmonds and Lucy Winter. Not much potential for romance there, you might think, but when you have a woman with ambition and a man in need of a partner for an undercover investigation, anything can happen. You’ll be able to find out what does happen in Winter’s Fire. You may be wondering where we go from there. There’s a man who’s appeared in most of the books in the series, even if only by name, and that’s…

Boltcutters and BDSM…
Hot on the heels of Passion’s Last Promise, the latest addition to the Club Aegis series, I am happy to announce the release of Ask Me, a short read of just under 20k words. I wrote this story for a boxed set of BDSM-themed romances. Unfortunately, the set isn’t going to be published now, which is why it’s ready so quickly after the latest Club Aegis story. Elements of this story take their inspiration from my trip to the BDSM Writers Con in New York in 2015—the incident with the suitcase, for example. Yes, that happened to me—not once, but twice. With about 40 minutes until the car arrived to…

Club Aegis Series Title and Numbers – information
Those of you who are really observant may have noticed that the images of book covers on this website and on the retailer websites have changed slightly. There is a reason for this. While there is a suggested reading order that may enhance your enjoyment of the series, there’s no real need to read the books in order, as they are all complete stories, with no cliffhangers. I took the decision to remove the sequential numbers from the Club Aegis books, because Amazon, through which a great many sales are made, doesn’t allow decimals in the numbering of books in a series. This being the case, A Wanting Heart hasn’t been…

Club Aegis 2.5: A Wanting Heart – News
In the interests of making the Club Aegis series available in full to all my readers, I’m delighted to announce that a paperback version of A Wanting Heart will soon be available. It’s going through the proofing process now, and will hopefully be on Amazon and CreateSpace very soon.

Club Aegis 3: Passion’s Last Promise – Update
I thought it was about time to give you the latest news about Passion’s Last Promise. I wanted to have this available for you before Christmas, so I apologise – I failed miserably there. The good news is, I’ve finally finished the initial draft. The better news is, I’m working on polishing it right now, and I hope to send it to my editor within the next ten days. The next stage is dependent on my editor’s schedule, but as soon as the edits are back and processed, I can have the book formatted and up for sale. So thank you for bearing with me so far – I can’t…

A is for…
Arugula. Okay, in the UK, we call it rocket, so maybe I’m cheating slightly, but I recently found out an interesting fact about this unassuming salad leaf. My current work-in-progress has a scene that includes rocket, and as someone observed, who would get turned on by salad? Good question. I didn’t have a good answer at the time, but days later, I did. It turns out that rocket is an aphrodisiac – which does start with A – and has been documented as such for almost two thousand years. I didn’t know that, either. All I can say is, I’ll never look at a plate of salad the same way…
