Hello, and a slightly belated Happy New Year! I hope this year is a good one for you.
I thought it might be a good idea to let you know what’s on the cards for the start of the new decade. Let me first start by sharing the news that I’m going part-time at the day job, so I have an extra full day for writing, which I hope will assist in making at least some of these plans come to fruition.
Events: I’m attending one event as an author this year, and that’s Books On The Beach in Blackpool on 22 August 2020. To find out more, here’s the link to the Facebook group – Books On The Beach
This Year’s Books: I’m currently polishing Shattered Secrets (Club Aegis #7) before it goes to my beta readers for a sanity check, prior to sending it to my editor. Subject to her availability, and the opportunities my lovely readers have to slot this into their schedules, I hope to make that available before the end of February. The story starts where No Going Back (Club Aegis #6) ends, but there are very light links with Love Is Danger (Club Aegis #3), Winter’s Fire (Club Aegis #5) and Charity’s Heart (Spectrum Security Inc. #1). I hope it’s worth the wait.
When Shattered Secrets goes to my beta readers, I’ll then be able to start on the next stories in both the Club Aegis and Spectrum Security Inc. series. For Club Aegis, that will be Soul Lost (Club Aegis #8), Sean Malone’s story. We first met him briefly in Winter’s Fire, but at the end of Shattered Secrets, we find out he isn’t in a good place. In the meantime, Spectrum Security’s operation in the US is taking shape, and the first ex-pat member of the team is heading for Texas. Rocco Equizi—half-English, half-Sicilian, and a former member of the SAS—is heading for a close protection assignment, but who catches his eye? The young woman with a very public persona who is his principal, or her personal assistant, who seems determined to melt into the background? Find out in Sasha’s Spirit (Spectrum Security Inc. #2)
Future Books: Looking beyond this year, there will definitely be one more Club Aegis book. That will be the ninth, and it was going to be the final one in the series. It may still turn out that way, but when I was mulling over scenes for Soul Lost, another character came to mind. We haven’t met him yet, but he may—and I stress, may—need a book of his own, depending on how his appearance in Soul Lost goes.
The Spectrum Security Inc. series will continue as well, with at least a third story planned. At present, I’m not sure if there will be further books after that one, because I have so many other stories I want to write, some of them in other romance sub-genres. One idea is a paranormal trilogy, featuring stories I first came up with several years ago but never got around to writing.
So, I hope this is all good news. I can’t give you any publication dates, because I’m hopeless at estimating these things, and I don’t write full-time, so my output fluctuates a lot. I will, however, post progress reports, and if you’d like to, please come and Friend or Follow me on Facebook: Christie Adams
Finally, I’d like to wish you all the best for 2020, and leave you with the covers for the three books I hope to publish during the course of the year:
