Well, here we are, almost at the end of the first quarter, and I don’t know about you, but I’d like a refund on this year. Or a reset.
We are all faced with an unprecedented global situation, and my heart goes out to all those who are suffering, and all those who have lost loved ones. I wish I knew better words, but I’m not sure there are any. Stay at home, stay safe, be sensible. Respect the rules that have been put in place. Practise social distancing. We need everyone to do their best to beat this.
We also need to show our appreciation and respect for the people who are out there, going above and beyond, to care for us, keep us safe, and keep us fed. We know who they are, and they deserve our undying gratitude for what they are currently having to face every single day.
So to all of you, though the words are pitiful and inadequate… thank you.
And as a footnote, because in the great scheme of things, it matters not one jot, my plans for this year, in terms of the books, have had to change. Shattered Secrets is undergoing a rewrite. Although I’d finished the story, when I sent it to my beta readers, my instincts told me it wasn’t “right”, and the feedback proved it. I can salvage some of it, but a lot will need to be changed radically. Unfortunately, this will delay publication for a while, so if you’re waiting to find out how Conor, Bax and Jen get together, I am so sorry for the delay, and the knock-on effect of delaying the rest of my writing plans.
I’ll close now, with love and best wishes to all of you. Take care, stay safe, and stay well.
