And yes, I do mean Works, plural. I have a butterfly mind, especially when I hit “Publish” on a book—or, as is the case with Charity’s Heart, it goes live in the care of another publisher—and after the event, I have to decide what I’m going to work on next.
That used to be relatively easy.
Choices, choices.
I now have two series on the go, but it doesn’t stop there. Back when I wrote my first book, I used to wonder where the next idea would come from, but now, like many, if not most, authors, I have so many ideas buzzing around my head, it’s difficult to know where to start.
Part of the dilemma is connected with sub-genre. My romances so far have been contemporary, mostly with elements of suspense, and with a degree of BDSM. Some of my ideas are in totally different sub-genres, such as paranormal and futuristic.
I’m also looking at adopting a separate pen name to write some shorter, hotter stories to retail at 99p/99c, but that’s very much under development at the moment.
So, what am I actually working on, I hear you ask? Two projects have bubbled to the surface. One is more advanced than the other—20k words written versus still in the plotting stage. The more advanced project is Shattered Secrets (Club Aegis #7), but when I’m not adding to that word count, I’m busy plotting Sasha’s Spirit, the second book in my Spectrum Security Inc. series, which is part of Susan Stoker’s Special Forces: Operation Alpha world, and will be published by Aces Press.
Unfortunately, I can’t give you any information about publication dates. With limited writing time, it’s difficult to predict when a book will be ready for publication, but when it is, it’ll be the best I can make it, with the assistance of my wonderful editor and my amazingly talented cover artist. When the time comes, I hope you enjoy it.
Finally, there’s just one more thing. Without readers, I couldn’t do what I love, so a huge thank-you to all of you, from the bottom of my heart.
