Club Aegis 3: Passion’s Last Promise – Update

I thought it was about time to give you the latest news about Passion’s Last Promise. I wanted to have this available for you before Christmas, so I apologise – I failed miserably there. The good news is, I’ve finally finished the initial draft. The better news is, I’m working on polishing it right now, and I hope to send it to my editor within the next ten days. The next stage is dependent on my editor’s schedule, but as soon as the edits are back and processed, I can have the book formatted and up for sale. So thank you for bearing with me so far – I can’t…

    A is for…

Arugula. Okay, in the UK, we call it rocket, so maybe I’m cheating slightly, but I recently found out an interesting fact about this unassuming salad leaf. My current work-in-progress has a scene that includes rocket, and as someone observed, who would get turned on by salad? Good question. I didn’t have a good answer at the time, but days later, I did. It turns out that rocket is an aphrodisiac – which does start with A – and has been documented as such for almost two thousand years. I didn’t know that, either. All I can say is, I’ll never look at a plate of salad the same way…

To blog or not to blog…that is the question

I’m a member of a few online writers’ groups, and one of them currently has a discussion going on around the value of blogging for fiction authors. It’s an interesting read. You may have noticed that my posts are few and far between. There’s a reason for that – I’m a naturally quiet person. All you’d need to do is ask anyone at the day job. They also say the quiet ones are the worst, but we won’t go there! Anyway, I’ve been cogitating – from the Latin cogitare, to think – and maybe it’s time I peeked out at the big, wide world a little more often. Starting next…

    New year, new start…

Here we are, almost halfway through the first month of 2016 – something tells me this year is going to go at leas as fast as last year! I thought it was about time to give you an update on Club Aegis 3, Passion’s Last Promise. The bad news is that I didn’t manage to write as much over Christmas as I planned – the better news is that I think I have between 5,000 and 8,000 words to go, to complete the first draft. However that is going to be held up for a month by the fact that I am currently taking four of Margie Lawson’s excellent writing…

    Season’s Greetings

Well, the day job has now finished until 4 January, which gives me a good opportunity to get on with Passion’s Last Promise, the latest Club Aegis novel. I’m still working on the initial draft. The word count currently stands at around 85,000, and I still have some way to go. This story has taken a few mystery turns along the way, scenes I never imagined when I first started writing it, which is why Ros and Simon are giving me so many problems! I hope to make some serious progress over the holidays, then I can start polishing the story before it goes to my wonderful editor. However, that’s quite…

    So what comes next?

To those of you who celebrate Labor Day, I hope you enjoyed the long weekend, and had a great time with your family and friends. Now that I’ve returned from the BDSM Writers Con, and I’m back to juggling the writing and the day job, I thought you might be interested to know what’s coming up over the next few months. Apart from anything else, if I tell you what my writing plans are, it means I have to stick to them! At any given time, I have a lot of projects bubbling away, in various stages of development. At the moment, however, there are two projects that are far…

    I have returned…

Just got back from a few days in New York, to attend the 2015 BDSM Writers Con. The jet lag is seriously kicking in right now, but I had to let you know I had a great time, and learned so much. So much so, that I’ve registered for next year’s event, even though I’m not sure yet whether I’ll be able to make it or not. Well, in the interests of honesty, I have to qualify that statement about having a great time. I had a great time apart from travelling to New York from the UK. Don’t ask. Do. Not. Ask. Please – really, don’t. All I’m going…

    The newsletter link has landed

I finally got my act together and looked into setting up a newsletter. The result is the nifty little link to the right. If you would like to subscribe, please click the link and fill in the form that opens up – it won’t take too long, as it only has two fields for you to fill in. You’ll receive and email to confirm that you would like to be added to the mailing list – click the link on that, and the job’s done. I don’t plan to inundate your inbox with newsletters – I’ll let you know when something of note is on the way, such as the…

    Summer holidays

The holiday season is here, and I hope you’re all having a great time, whether you’re taking your vacation at home or going away. It’s great to take some time away from the hassles of work and life in general, and relax with your loved ones…and maybe take some time out to catch up on your reading. If your reading includes the three books to date in the Club Aegis series, first of all, thank you! I hope to have the next in the series available before the end of the year – the initial draft is still a work in progress, so there’s a way to go yet. Before…

    Red Letter Day

Today’s the day for Club Aegis 2.5 – A Wanting Heart to go live. This is one of those days when the nerves really set in; until today, it’s been a case of writing, reading, revising and polishing, but today is the day when I start to find out if what I’ve done meets with your approval, if it’s entertained you, if you like the characters enough to want to read more about them and the other members of Club Aegis. I do hope you enjoy this one. It’s shorter than the first two books in the series, but I do hope it’ll keep you going until Ros Edwards’ story…
