Closure of All Romance eBooks – Updated

31 Dec 2016 – Further to the post below, and having had time to talk to friends and sleep on it, I’ve decided to bring forward my decision to go exclusively with Amazon, for the next three months at any rate. What happens after that depends on how successful the experiment is. If you’ve previously purchased my books from other retailers, thank you very much for your support – it is very much appreciated. However, my decision is based on an analysis of all the sales data in my possession. There was only one realistic conclusion, and that was to give Amazon exclusivity a try.

And once again – if you’ve bought books from ARe, please, please, please do your best to download your purchases before the site goes dark tonight.

If you’ve purchased eBooks from All Romance eBooks in the past, you’re probably already aware that the site will be closing at midnight (Central/US) on 31 December 2016. Emails came out from the CEO yesterday, 28 December, to inform customers, authors and publishers of the bad news.

If you haven’t already done so, please do what you can to secure your library as soon as possible, as once the above deadline passes, the site will no longer be available. If you have any outstanding credit on your account, in my personal opinion, you should try to use it up.

The proceeds of those sales will not make their way to the authors and publishers of the books you buy anyway, but the way I see it, you wouldn’t be able to use that credit elsewhere to support the authors, so you might as well benefit from it and use it while you can. Bear in mind, I’m not the only author to pull content from the site, so the choices available are likely to diminish quickly.

My books are still available through other websites: Kindle format through Amazon, and epub format through Apple, Kobo (and its associated websites) and Barnes & Noble. If you prefer a pdf, there is a link on the page for each book on my website, where you can buy a pdf version direct from me, along with Kindle- and epub-compatible files.

As yet, I haven’t decided what my sales strategy will be for the long term. I may decided to sell exclusively through Amazon, either for an initial 90 days and go wide after that, or pull everything from other retailers and remain exclusive to Amazon. I won’t make that decision until my next release, which is unlikely to be for a few months at least.

All that remains for me to do is wish you all the best for a very Happy New Year, in the hope that 2017 will be better for all of us.
